Escape to Cedar Point, a picturesque A-frame cottage nestled in the woods on a semi-private bay in Muskoka. Just under a 2-hour drive from Toronto and only 15 minutes from the charming town of Bala, this classic waterfront retreat is the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature.

Enjoy spectacular views of a windswept pine island from this 3-bedroom waterfront cottage, where timeless Muskoka memories are waiting to be made.

The Cottage

This charming A-frame features a stone, wood-burning fireplace that creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling custom windows frame breathtaking lake views, turning the living space into a peaceful observatory where you may spot local wildlife such as beavers, loons, blue herons, deer, and even moose.

Sliding glass doors open onto the deck, seamlessly connecting indoor comfort with the beauty of the outdoors.

Note: The cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests, but at approximately 730 sq. ft., it is best suited for 4 guests and one well-behaved dog.

Sleeping Arrangements

With three bedrooms, you’ll find a comfortable place for everyone. A guest favorite is the loft bedroom, accessible by ladder and featuring a cozy queen-size bed and a unique elevated view of the cottage and surrounding forest.

Comfortable mattresses, quality linens, and blackout curtains make it easy to enjoy slow, restful mornings.

Outdoor Living

Unwind on the spacious dock, which includes space to tie up your boat—perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks. Gather around the fire pit near the cottage, enjoy a game of ring toss, or take a refreshing swim from the dock.

Fishing enthusiasts will love the abundant waters of Gibson Lake.

Location

The cottage is just 15 minutes south of Bala, a beloved Muskoka destination offering a grocery store, LCBO, Beer Store, butcher, restaurants, and unique local shops.

Bala sits at the meeting point of Lake Muskoka and the Moon River and is known for its lively events, boutique shopping, and excellent dining. Don’t miss Don’s Bakery, a local institution since 1947 and one of the region’s few remaining scratch bakeries.

In summer, enjoy Bala’s famous Tuesday night ski shows, a Muskoka tradition since the 1960s.

Outdoor Activities

We’re also just 15 minutes from McCrea Conservation Area, home to scenic hiking trails that wind through rugged Muskoka terrain, forested paths, rocky outcrops, and peaceful lakeside views.

Hardy Lake Provincial Park, Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, and The Big Chute Marine Railway are within 30 minutes of the cottage and offer endless hours of outdoor activities.

Arrival & Parking

We recommend backing down the driveway. If you’re uncomfortable, parking is available at the top of the laneway on Mohawk Road (please do not block entrances), with a short walk down.

Parking for two vehicles is available behind the A-frame.

Boat launch access is available at the Gibson Lake public boat launch.

• Crate required if left unattended indoors

• Scoop all dog waste, including in the forest
